“Why Does My Blendtec Smell?” One reason why your Blendtec Smell is due to the faulty components in the blender.

Below are the components that are likely to cause your Blendtec blender to smell.

  • The motor.
  • The blades.
  • The sealing rings.
  • The brushes.
  • The coupling.

The motor

Contents

The motor is one of the most important parts of a blender. This component is one thing your blender needs to work and without it, you can’t get anything done. One reason why your Blendtec blender smells is that the motor is heated (overheated). When your Blendtec blender is connected to the socket, the electricity that passes through the motor heats it.

The heat can vaporize oils and other items on or closer to the motor and result in a burning or hot smell. In this case, the blender is supposed to be pulsed, not continually used, especially for more than 25 seconds or 30 seconds. In addition, crushing a lot of hard seeds or ice in your Blendtec blender can overwork the motor, causing it to smell so bad.

The blades

Another important component in a blender is the blades. Without the blades, your hard seed, ice, frozen foods, herbs, spices, and other ingredients cannot be ground. In a blender, there are usually different blades to offer you different consistency of your ingredients.

Once they are overworked, they will begin to release some kind of burning or awkward smell. When food or liquids gets trapped in the blade bearing, it can cause your motor to work harder than it should. And once your motor begins to overwork itself, it will overheat.

Furthermore, if your blender’s blade is already blunt and you are still making use of it, it can have a huge effect on the motor causing it to smell. This is to tell you that if your blade is damaged, using it regardless can damage your motor.

The sealing rings

The sealing ring is also known as the blender seal and it is part of the blender’s blade assembly. Once this ring is damaged, it can cause your blender’s motor to get damaged too and emit burning smells.

The motor is affected because the ring is cracked, so it is allowing the liquid or powder from your blender jar to get into the motor. Imagine how much damage the liquid that got into the motor would have caused and you can only get to know due to the smell.

The brushes

When your blender is always used, the brushes would easily be worn out. When the brush turns to an arc, you’d know it has worn out, plus it will begin to smell and bring out smoke.

The brushes play a huge role in the motor as they transfer electricity that makes your motor operate. When these components are damaged, there is no way your motor will work. If the motor works, it will get damaged completely in the end.

The couplings

The couplings sort of have a connection with your blades. Once the blades are overloaded, the couplings would fail. If the couplings melt, it could cause your motor to burn out and smell. So, you shouldn’t overload your blades with too many ingredients, especially the hard ones.
